The Lanes are packed with quirky little bars where first dates happen every night of the week, Kemptown is the most open and accepting neighbourhood you'll ever find, and North Laine has this creative energy where everyone's a bit alternative and nobody's ashamed of what they want. It's the anti-London - all the culture and nightlife but without the pretence and the stupid prices.
The dating vibe here is genuinely different from anywhere else. People in Brighton are open about what they're after in a way that'd make people in Birmingham or Manchester blush. Maybe it's the sea air, maybe it's the fact that half the city works in creative industries and the other half are therapists, but there's this wonderful lack of judgement. Hove's got a slightly more chilled, residential feel - less chaotic than central Brighton but still walking distance to everything. Preston Park area is lovely for actual walks that accidentally turn into something more.
