The Cathedral Quarter has some proper nice cocktail bars and the crowd's a good mix of young professionals who work at Rolls or Toyota during the week and actually want to let loose at weekends. Less pretentious than Nottingham and way more approachable.
Sadler Gate & The Indie Scene
The independent bars along Sadler Gate bring in people who are actually interesting to talk to. Not just the same lads doing shots - actual humans with personalities. It's a good hunting ground if you want someone with substance who also happens to be up for something casual.
