The West End around the university has this brilliant mix of students and young professionals. Broughty Ferry is where the slightly older crowd hangs out - proper nice area with beach views and decent pubs that don't feel like student bars. The city centre has had a massive facelift and Stobswell is becoming the up-and-coming bit with creative types moving in. For a city of around 150,000 people, there's a surprising amount going on. The student population from Dundee Uni and Abertay keeps the nightlife alive and the average age down.
